Obituary of Gordon Reginald Waye Sr.
Gordon Reginald Waye Sr. – 85, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on November 11th, 2020. Gordon was son of the late Daphne Robichaud (Waye). He grew up in Port Elgin, yet lived most of his life in Westfield which he often referred to as ‘God’s Country’. By trade, he was an electric motor rewinder; his interests were playing guitar, being in nature and enjoying stock car races.
Husband of the late Eileen (Steeves), Gordon is survived by his children; Daphne (Paul Baker), Gordon Jr. (Ellen Camp), Christopher (Crystal Banks Waye), Mark (Jennifer Nicholson-Waye); grandchildren, Calvin, Katherine (Michael Yun), Camryn, James, Leo, Dylan and Emmett.
Gordon is also survived by his brother, Brian Robichaud and brother-in-law Robert Bartlett; Norma Machum, and Joy Short (Peter), several nieces, nephews and cousins. Predeceased by his sister Noreen Bartlett, sisters-in-law, Linda Robichaud and Joyce Steeves, brothers-in-law, Allen Steeves, Terry Machum and John Steeves.
Gordon was a private person who enjoyed solitude and took great pride in his family.
Resting at Kennebecasis Community Funeral Home, 152 Pettingill Road, Quispamsis (849-2119), with visiting on Sunday, November 15, 2020, from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 PM. Staff will be at the entrance of the funeral home to advise of Covid-19 protocols. Gordon’s family has requested a private family service that will be held on Monday, November 16, 2020 from Kennebecasis Community Funeral Home. Donations in memory of Gordon may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice. Interment will take place in Mount Hope Cemetery, Welsford.
