Gord was a warm-hearted, funny, wonderful husband, father, brother, son, uncle and friend. He was a multi-talented musician who used his gifts to glorify his God. For more than 50 years he was a corp pianist and band member. The St. John’s Temple Band had an amazing trombone section consisting of two generations of Cousens men, Fred and his sons Gord and Jim.
The Glenbrook Lodge was another avenue of service as Gord played hymns for his mother and father and all the other residents of the home. He kept up this commitment for more than 20 years.
Gord founded and led the Wesley Male Choir. He was assisted by his brother Jim who was their organist. For 30 years, the men blessed all who heard them sing in services in many churches across the province.
Gord and Mildred also volunteered at Wesley United Church and the Canadian Cancer Society.
The family have the comfort of knowing he is with his God and is playing the piano and in the best band in heaven.
“In Thee oh Lord do I put my trust.”
Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Gordon Thomas Cousens 2020..
