Devitt, Gordon Marvin (1941-2020)
It is with heavy hearts that the family announces his passing on Sunday November 22, 2020 at the North Bay Regional Health Centre in his 80th year.
He was the devoted husband of 59 years to Barbara Devitt (née Maxwell).
Loving father to Terry Purser, Karen Floyd, Debra Poeta (John). Papa to Kylie and Karah Floyd, Jesse Purser, Amanda, Courtney, Brad and Sarah Poeta. Gord is survived by his sisters Linda Curry (Joe) and Judy Gaudreault (Mike). He is predeceased by his parents Lloyd and Elizabeth Devitt and his brothers Albert and Willie Devitt. He will be missed by many nieces and nephews.
Gord was the proud owner and operator for Tallman Transport Company, he worked for several years as a service manager for Bestway Truck Centre while operating Callander Bay Marina. Gordon was also the proud owner of over 25 years of the Near North Truck Centre. Gordon was an avid golfer, with a love for the outdoors. He loved spending his winters in Florida and attending bluegrass festivals with his wife and friends.
Gord will be remembered for his witty and brilliant mind and most of all for his heart of gold.
Due to the pandemic, a celebration of life will be held at a later date.
Donations in Gordon’s memory can be made towards a foundation of your choice.
