Obituary
Gloria Mary Gratton (nee Reardon) received her eternal rest peacefully on August 19, 2020 at the age of 89 years. She was predeceased by her parents Henry and Elizabeth Reardon, and siblings Quintin, Colette and Erleen. Gloria is survived by Eric Gratton, her devoted husband of 66 happy years; and her children Janet Greenhalgh (Paul), Amy Budd (Richard), and Carl Gratton (Carolyn). She is also survived by her four grandchildren: Devon, Quinn, Paul and Eric Gratton; her sister Maria; brother-in-law Omond; and a large extended family who also share our loss.
Gloria was an intuitive woman who approached life with curiosity, and she leaves a legacy of relationships and friendships that were built with kindness, laughter, and a deep sense of caring for others. She was socially conscious of the world’s affairs and made choices in her daily life which reflected her convictions. Gloria loved crafts, cryptograms, bingo, playing cards, watching televised golf, curling and reruns of Lawrence Welk. Gloria was proud of her cookbook and the many large feasts she prepared over holidays with family.
She lost her sense of time and space in her final years but did so gracefully, never losing her sense of humor and always more concerned with how her condition affected others. The family wishes to express sincere appreciation to the Unit 42 team at the Foothills Medical Center and the staff at Grand Seton Village for their compassionate treatment and professionalism.
A celebration of life and internment service will occur at a later date when our family can be together.
