It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Lloyd Mersereau of Blissfield, NB. On April 17, 2020 in his 98th year. Born on August 17, 1922 in Blissfield, NB, he was the son of the late Ernest and Estella (Bamford) Mersereau .Lloyd never married but had a lady friend in Doaktown, Carmen (Cam) Brown, they would meet bi-monthly to exchange cookies and sweets for garden products and fiddleheads, Lloyd loved his sweets.
Lloyd’s career was devoted to farming and working in the woods. Any tree that was a blow down or even slightly bent over was taken for firewood, nothing went to waste. Lloyd has a special friend and caregiver Bill Witherell and they worked together over the past several years. Every Wednesday they would travel to Doaktown to dine out and stop by the local independent grocery store. This was senior’s day which included a discount.Lloyd loved bargains. Lloyd is survived by a number of nieces and nephews; He is the last member of his immediate family. He was predeceased by brothers, Charlie, Murray and Mac, sister Zella and nephew Laurie Mersereau. As with the present Covid 19 situation, a graveside service will be held at a later date. In memory of Lloyd, donations may be made to Ford Hallow Cemetery Fund.
