It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Glenda. She was born in Sydney Australia and raised on Bondi Beach. She was an amateur ballerina and high diver.
She moved to Oceanside in 1996 to open The Hemp Store behind The Old Country Market. She helped pioneer the introduction of medical marijuana with the opening of The Mid-Island Compassion Club in Coombs from 2001 to 2006.
Survived by her loving husband Mark Russell of 25 years 11 months and 25 days and her daughter Elizabeth Ewen.
She is predeceased by Grandson Andrew David Ewen.
Glenda came to know, admire, and love the people she met here. Her friends in the animal rescue community, our neighbors from Coombs to Nanoose to Dashwood to Parksville and Qualicum. A special shout out to all the Coombs Rowdies please know you were our first friends here and she loved you all the most. Especially Phil and Eric.
