Glenda Helen Webb – 77, Sutherlands Lake.
The death of Glenda Helen Webb occurred on Saturday evening, May 16,
2020, at The Mira Long Term Care Centre, Truro, with her loving
husband, Vaughan at her side. Born in Poplar Grove, Prince Edward
Island, she was a daughter of the late George and Ada (Murphy)
Milligan.
Until retirement, Glenda operated Glenholme Antiques with her
husband, Vaughan. She enjoyed a loving relationship with her family
and friends. She was known for her ability to be a great hostess, a
good friend and not afraid to tackle any challenge that came to her
and she did so with grace, style and a bit of tenacity when required.
Her smile and “quick wit” brought happiness to many over the
years. She was also very well known for her love of music and was
honoured to play and sing for several years with the band “SK
Bluegrass” as well at many other parties and jam sessions; music
played a huge part in her life and she met many new friends through
it. An avid traveller, she had been to Florida many times as well as
California, Poland and all across Canada.
Glenda is survived by her husband, Vaughan Webb, Sutherlands
Lake; sons, Tim MacKay (Joanne), Argyle Shore, Prince Edward Island;
Brent MacKay (Karen Morton), Slave Lake, Alberta; Michael MacKay
(Cindy Ryan), Portipique; step children, Sherry Teed (Gary White),
Dresden, Ontario; Kevin Webb, Bible Hill; grandchildren, Andrew
MacKay, Moncton, New Brunswick; Mallory Fowler (Devin Gero), Bible
Hill; Brian MacKay (Cassie), Cornwall, Prince Edward Island; Stephen
MacKay, Slave Lake, Alberta; Thomas MacKay, Moncton, New Brunswick;
Amy MacKay (Dakota Byers), Leduc, Alberta; Christina Webb, Petrolia,
Ontario; Jamie Holmes (Karen), Sarnia, Ontario; Samantha Fleck (Zak),
Dresden, Ontario; Chantelle Dobson (Adrian), Westchester; Cody Webb,
Dresden, Ontario; several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews;
siblings, Jean Boylan, Summerside, Prince Edward Island; Rena Hawkins
(Edward Mugridge), Freeland, Prince Edward Island; Carl Milligan
(Pearl), Porters Lake; Elva Geldart (Wayne Drew), Debert; Jenny
Simmons (Elmer), Summerside, Prince Edward Island; Goldie Coughlin
(Hal), Poplar Grove, Prince Edward Island.
Along with her parents, she was predeceased by her sisters,
Georgina Cox (Debert), Wendy Cooling (Summerside, Prince Edward
Island); brother, Kenneth Milligan (Poplar Grove, Prince Edward
Island); daughters-in-law, Brenda Webb (Bible Hill), Susan MacKay
(Debert); grandson, Brandon Webb (Richmond Hill, Ontario);
brothers-in-law, Charles Cox (Debert); Fenton Boylan (Summerside,
Prince Edward Island); Roland Hawkins (Freeland, Prince Edward
Island), Howard Cooling (Summerside, Prince Edward Island), Howard
Geldart (Debert).
The family would like to thank all the employees at East
Cumberland Lodge, Pugwash and at The Mira Long Term Care Centre, Truro
for their care of Glenda; your kindness will be remembered
always.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Mattatall – Varner
Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro. Due to the current restrictions
of Covid-19 final arrangements will be announced at a later date. If
so desired, donations in Glenda’s memory to Alzheimer
Society of Nova Scotia or Heart and Stroke Foundation are welcomed.
