Obituary of Gladys Brushett Maye
It is with great sadness that the family of Gladys Brushett Maye of Marystown announce her passing at the Burin Peninsula Health Care Center on May 21, 2020 at the age of 68 years.
Leaving to mourn with many wonderful memories are husband of 42 years Gerald; sons Steven of Chicago, IL. and Andrew (Danielle) of St. John’s, NL; sisters Marlene Webber (Jim) of Ottawa, ON and Ena Newman (Gary) of Trenton, ON; sisters-in-law Dawn Brushett of Burin, NL, Betty Dunphy (Wayne) of Monkstown, NL, Phyllis Masters of Marystown, NL and Daphne Maye of Winnipeg, MB; brothers-in-law Chris Maye (Lillian) of Garden Cove, NL and Scott Maye (Cynthia) of Marystown, NL; nieces Kristina Newman, Jennifer Brushett, Deanne Maye, Donna Lee Sampson, Wendy Butler, Joy Dunphy and Janell Maye; nephews Mark Brushett, Jason Newman, Jeremy Maye, Todd Maye and Darren Maye; special lifelong friend Sylvia Dunphy of Torbay, NL; special “sister”/cousin Marilyn Carter of Cole Harbour, NS; uncle Rene Fillier (Ellen) of Gander, NL and a large circle of other family and friends.
Predeceased by parents George and Emma Brushett, brother Allan Brushett, parents-in-law Thomas and Hattie Maye and brothers-in-law Donald Maye, Barry Maye and Wayne Masters.
In accordance with Gladys’s wishes, cremation has taken place.
Due to restrictions resulting from the Covid-19 pandemic, a celebration of Gladys’s life will follow at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to either of the following:
ALS Society of Newfoundland and Labrador
Janeway Children’s Hospital Foundation or a charity of one’s choice.
