Gilles Guimond
1938-2020
SAINT-LOUIS-DE-KENT, NB – Gilles Guimond 81, of
Saint-Louis-de-Kent passed away peacefully at the Stella Maris
Hospital on Thursday, February 27, 2020. Born in Guimond
Village, he was the son of the late Cyprien Guimond and late Minnie
(Cormier) Guimond. Before retiring, Gilles was employed at
Kouchibouguac National Park for 35 years.
Gilles will be sadly missed by his loving wife, Anna
(Robichaud) Guimond of St. Louis; one daughter, Pauline Daigle
(Regilles) of St. Charles; one son; Rheal Guimond (Cécile)
of St. Louis and his fur grandbabies, Brutus, Misty and
Jack.
He is also survived by three sisters, Dorca Doucet (Ligouri)
of Beresford, Hilda Daigle (late Tilmon) of St. Louis, Anne Daigle
(Gilles) of St. Louis; two brothers, Oswald Guimond (Patsy) of St.
Charles, Jean Guimond of St. Louis; sister-in-law, Rose Daigle of St.
Louis and many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Gilles was predeceased by two sisters,
Berthille, Jeanne d’Arc and one brother,
Rodrigue.
As per Gilles’ wishes there will be no visitation
at the funeral home. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on
Monday, March 2, 2020 at 11:00 am at the St. Louis des
Français Roman Catholic Church in
Saint-Louis-de-Kent. Donations in Gilles’ memory
may be made to the New Brunswick Parkinson’s Foundation and
would be appreciated by the family. Arrangements are in care
of Thompson’s Funeral Home, Richibucto
(523-4252).
