John Verones
February 19, 1963 – September 15, 2020
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of John Verones on September 15, 2020. John will be lovingly remembered and missed by his wife Lesia, son Edward, son Jordan, daughter Marina, father Alfredo, brother Marc (Helena), sister Claudia (Scott), sister Patricia (Robin), In laws Edward & Adele and brother in law, Daryl (Moira), numerous nieces and nephews, extended family and friends in Canada, the US and Italy. John was predeceased by his mother, Onorina in 2012.
John was born, raised and educated in Edmonton. Following college John joined IBM Canada to begin a career which spanned 35 years and included roles in Calgary, Winnipeg, Toronto, Edmonton and Vancouver. John’s love of the ocean and mountains called him to remain living and working in Vancouver. John had a deep passion for his children and all their activities. He was their number one fan and a dedicated volunteer soccer coach for CMFSC and worked tirelessly on fundraising initiatives with the club and Dr. Charles Best Secondary School. John loved to work with his hands and was always fixing things – he was the neighbourhood handyman. He loved dirt biking in the mountains, golfing and playing hockey with the boys and enjoyed many wonderful vacations with his family and friends. He was greatly loved and will be missed beyond words.
Due to Covid rules, Funeral mass at St Clare of Assisi Catholic Church will be by invitation only. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in John’s memory can be made to the BC Cancer Foundation at donate.bccancerfoundation.com/goto/JohnVerones
