Giacomo Grande Wednesday August 12th 2020

Mr. Giacomo Grande of Red Deer, Alberta, passed away at the Red Deer Hospice on Wednesday, August 12, 2020 at the age of 92 years. Giacomo was born on July 1, 1928 in Cicala, Italy. He married his wife, Adelina Leo in 1952. The couple immigrated to Canada in 1966 and settled in Red Deer, Alberta. His very first job was working on Saint Mary’s Catholic Church, as a brick layer. He also started a Concrete Finishing Company and then went on to start up Red Deer Concrete Mix, with two other partners. Giacomo enjoyed twenty-seven years of retirement; spending countless hours in his greenhouse and huge vegetable garden. He also enjoyed woodworking and building furniture. Giacomo will be lovingly remembered by his daughter, Maria (Shane) of Red Deer, his sons, Ben (Cathy) of Red Deer, Fausto (Doreen) and Marco (Jody) of Calgary, Alberta. He will also be sadly missed by his grandchildren, Adam, Desiree, Venessa, Marco Antonio, Lisa, Noah and Jacob and his six great grandchildren; as well as numerous family members and dear friends. Giacomo was predeceased by his wife, Adelina in 2017. A Private Funeral Mass will be held at a later date. Condolences may be sent or viewed at www.parklandfuneralhome.com.
