Gertrude
Selma (Smith) Weatherbee, 86, of Upper Dyke, formerly of Wolfville,
passed away at home on Monday, November 16, 2020 surrounded by her
family. Born in Lockhartville, she was a daughter of the late Arthur
and Elsie (Weagle) Smith. Gertrude lived in lower Wolfville for 56
years, then resided in Upper Dyke with her dear dog
Maggie. She is survived by her daughter, Sandra (Ron) MacKeen;
sons, Jeff and Curtis (Zelda); eight grandchildren; six great
grandchildren; and five great-great grandchildren. In addition to her
parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Earl; son, Carl;
grandson, Chandler; great-great granddaughter, Isabelle; brothers,
Keith, Lloyd and Robert; sisters, Shirley, Eleanor, and twin sister in
infancy. Gertrude was the last surviving member of her immediate
family. There will be no visitation. A graveside service will
be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 20, 2020 in Willowbank
Cemetery, Wolfville, Reverend Ivan Norton officiating.
Donations in memory may be made to S.P.C.A. Kings
County or the Royal Canadian Legion- Dr. C.B. Lumdsen Branch No. 74.
