Gertrude Morais 1921-2020

It is with great sadness that we, the family, announce the passing of Mrs. Gertrude Morais, wife of the late Emery Morais, which occurred on Thursday, July 30th, 2020 at the Foyer Notre-Dame-de-Lourdes in Bathurst at the age of 99.
Born in Bathurst, she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Margaret (Kenny) Vienneau.
She is survived by two daughters: Marguerite Martel (Roger) of Boucherville, QC and Louise Gervais (Robert) of Bathurst, two sons: Michael (Jeannine) and Pierre (Raymonde) both of Bathurst.
Six grandchildren: Jean-Marc, Julie, Sylvie, Philippe, Mathieu, Tanya and seven great-grandchildren: Mireille, Brandon, Tyler, Chloé, Loïc, Elianne and Leah.
Sisters: Mildred Bennett of Toronto, ON, Eleanor Laidlaw of Ajax, ON, Angie Davis of Montreal, QC and Judy Yakes of Ontario.
She was predeceased by her siblings: Mike, Betty, Louise, Martina, Margaret and Eileen.
Gertrude was a wonderful homemaker who loved to cook pies, play crib, knit, go for walks and was an avid Montreal Canadiens fan. She always had a smile on her face.
There will be no visitation at the funeral home. A private funeral service will be held.
Donations in memory of Gertrude may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
