Gertrud’s Obituary
Passed away peacefully, at Rockwood Terrace, Durham on Wednesday, March 25, 2020. Gertrud ‘Gertie’ & ‘Trudy’ Backhaus of Markdale in her 93rd year.
Beloved wife of the late Karl-Heinz Backhaus. Dear aunt of Birgitt Neffe. She will be sadly missed by her family in Germany and friends in the Markdale area.
A private family funeral service will be held at the May Funeral Home, Markdale, followed by cremation. A public ‘Celebration of Life’ will be announced at a later date.
In honour of Trudy’s memory, a gift to help someone in need would be appreciated. Condolences for the family may be arranged through May Funeral Home, 63 Main Street East, Markdale, ON N0C 1H0 (519-986-3310) www.mayfh.ca.
