Memorial Donation
It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of the late Geraldine Francis (nee Billard) announces her peaceful passing at home on Tuesday, July 14th 2020 at the age of 79 years. Born in Isle aux Morts, NL, Geraldine was the daughter of the late Ambrose Sr. and Julie Ann Billard (nee Scott). She was also predeceased by her daughter Sharon, father and mother-in-law Emmanual and Rose Francis (nee Collier); brothers Ambrose Jr, Levi and Clarence and sister Margaret Lefrense; brothers in law Ralph Francis, Henry Francis, Freeman Francis, Dan Lawrence, Raymond Green, Joseph Lucas and Wallace Pearce; sisters in law Emily Billard, Bernice Billard and Phyllis Francis.
She leaves to mourn with a lifetime of fond and loving memories her loving husband of 60 years Maxwell Francis; sons Kelly (Roberta) Francis of Burnt Islands, Alvin (Debbie) Francis of Isle aux Morts, Randy (Dorothy) Francis of Burlington, ON, and daughter Robin (Kirby) Tulk of Glovertown; grandchildren Shannon, Kelly (Natalie), Scott (Jill), Lori (Zack), Donna, Kaleb and Kacey; great grandchildren Dalton, Nate, Ty, Chase, Kaitlyn and Alex; brothers Winter (Ann) Billard and Lindsey (Bernice) Billard all of Isle aux Morts; sisters Gladys Lawrence of Isle aux Morts, Harriette Green of Burgeo, Louise Lucas of Stephenville, Eileen (Ephraim) Herritt of Isle aux Morts and Marilyn Smith of Halifax; sisters in law Nina Pearce, Dorothy (Will) Ingram, Rebecca Billard, Rita Francis, Elizabeth Francis as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.
Mom will forever be remembered for her love of cooking. She took great pride in presenting a meal for her family, and we all loved it, without ever any need for a salt shaker. Mom spent many summers at the cabin in Codroy Valley, enjoying campfires with the cabin neighbours who she loved dearly. She loved to embroider and quilt, and made beautiful blankets for all of us, which we will treasure forever.
Mom, we take comfort in the fact that you passed at home like you wanted, and that you are reunited with Sharon, your loving daughter who you lost long ago.
In keeping with Moms wishes, cremation has taken place. A funeral service will be held at a later date at the Holy Spirit Anglican Church in Isle aux Morts, officiated by Rev. Nathan Cutler. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Moms memory to the Holy Spirit Anglican Church.
