Gerald’s Obituary
It is with great sadness and heavy hearts we say goodbye to our beloved and wonderful husband and father. Gerry lived a fulfilling and enjoyable life with his beloved wife Shirley (nee Clarke) of 63 years.
He will be forever remembered for his love and devotion to his five children: Larry (Susan), Wayne (Pam), Joy Petropolis (Peter), June Carey (Rob) and Jason (Michele); his nine grandchildren: Justin, Jordan, Tyler, Jennifer, Jonathan, Thomas, Heather, Stephanie, Scott and great-granddaughters, Amber and Gemma, and step great-granddaughter, Sunshine and all his extended family.
Gerry was the son of the late John and Rosella Park and survived by his siblings, Don Park, Shirley Doody, June Tobin, Jean Peddle, Chesley Park, Bruce Park, and Doris Waldron.
Gerry has a long and successful career with Ultramar until his retirement. He always enjoyed many trips with Shirley to their cabin, camping, fishing and mostly being together. He enjoyed playing his accordions and mandolins to his family and friends and would light up a room with his contagious smile. He was known for his unending knowledge and desire to fix things. He adored his five children and would often say “My Family is Everything” and in the end he referred to them as “His Bubble”. To his children he was our “Rock” for the family and he was often known as a “Real Gentleman” to many. His memory will live on in our hearts forever.
Thank you to Dr. O’Driscoll for dad’s care over the past year and a special thank you to his son-in-law, Dr. Peter Petropolis who cared for him at home during his last days.
There are not enough words that can describe the pain we feel with his loss however, he will always be our everything and his memory will live on in each of us forever.
Due to the COVID 19 health restrictions a private family viewing, service, and interment will take place.
