It is with unspeakable sadness that we announce the passing of Gerald Joseph Normand Généreux at his residence on Sunday, June 28, 2020 at the age of 81 years. The loving son of Conrad and Marie-Blanche Généreux (nee Perreault, both predeceased), he was the long-time life partner of Nancy Bain (nee Abel, predeceased) of Sudbury. Gerald is survived by Nancy’s daughters Debra Bain, Diane Bain (Kevin), Darlene Geauvreau (Alex), Ursula Abel and her son Ron Bain (Linda) all of Sudbury. Left to mourn his passing are his brothers Roger (Noella) and Denis (Diane) both of Sudbury, and Gaëtan (Rachel) of Lac Labriche Alberta, as well as his loving sisters Carole Paradis (Rolland, predeceased) of Sudbury and Gaëtanne Drolet (Andre) of North Bay. Gerry reunites with his four brothers in heaven whom he missed dearly, Rene (Madeleine), Jean-Guy (Cecile), Robert (Laurette), and Raymond. Uncle Gerry leaves behind many nieces and nephews who always held a warm and special place in his heart. Grandpa Gerry’s passing will forever leave a void in the lives of Montana, Jake, Wyatt, Garrett, and Cruz all of whom he adored. Gerry was a proud member of the Ironworkers Union local #786 until his retirement. His dedication to his trade brought him all across Ontario where he worked on a number of well-known sites including Tom Davies Square and the Bridge of Nations in Sudbury, the GM plant in Oshawa, and the Skylon Tower in Niagara Falls. In days gone by, Gerry and Nancy enjoyed gardening, making home-made preserves and wine, and cooking together for large family dinners. Those were the days he missed the most.
