Gerald Clinton Wilson
1924-2020
Gerald C. Wilson, 96, of Golden
Years Estate, Moncton passed away peacefully within the comforts of
his home on Saturday, September 19, 2020. Born in Moncton,
he was the son of the late Forrest and Nellie (Hopper)
Wilson.
Gerry was a
retired Constable with the Moncton City Police Force (38 years of
service) and was a Veteran of the Second World War, having served with
the Canadian Army. In his younger years, Gerry enjoyed bowling,
playing softball, entertaining his friends and family by playing his
harmonica and accordion, playing crib and card
games.
Gerry will be
sadly missed by his daughter, Judy Bois (Mike) of Riverview; sons,
Terry Wilson (Frances) of Moncton and Stephen Wilson (Rita) of
Moncton; cherished grandchildren, Shelley, Paul, David, Kris, Treena
and Tanya; great grandchildren, Randy Joe, Samantha, Deven, Grady,
Brittany, Courtney and Lindsey; sister in law, Betty Wilson of
Moncton. In addition to his parents, Gerald was predeceased
by his wife, Doris (Steeves) Wilson (2007); sisters, Freda Freeman,
Dorothy MacConnell and Connie Forbes and brothers, Floyd Wilson and
Delbert Wilson.
A heart felt
thank you to the management and staff of Golden Years Estate and the
Extra Mural program for the care and compassion given to Gerry and his
family during his stay.
Visitation
for family and friends will be held at Fergusons Funeral Home, 1657
Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995) on Wednesday, September 23, 2020,
from 2:00 to 4:00 pm. Social Distancing restrictions must be observed
and the wearing of a mask is encouraged. Private Family interment to
be held at Fair Haven Memorial Gardens.
