Obituary
It is with great sadness we announce the sudden passing of our Mother, Baba, Sister, Aunt and friend, Georgia Schurko at her home on July 3, 2020, with her husband Alex by her side, at the age of 73 years.
She will be lovingly remembered by her husband Alex; son Keith (Lynette), daughter Melanie; daughter-in-law Pat; grandchildren Reid (Jaymie), Austin, Brandon and Christopher; sister Pamela; brother Greig; many nieces, nephews and extended family and friends. She was predeceased by her parents George & Gwen Cheyne; son Robin and brother Vernon.
Georgia and Alex met attending grade 12 classes in Winnipeg. For work she really enjoyed nursing and bus driving because she loved meeting new people. In later years, Georgia drove courier to keep busy, while still enjoying meeting new people. She enjoyed all sports, especially curling. Georgia also like Barbara Ann Scotts figure skating, she tried it, but it didn’t work out. She was very active in the sports community, starting a broomball league in Gillam, MB. She also bowled in Gillam, MB, Brandon, MB, and in Alberta. Georgia also curled in Gillam, where she curled with highly skilled women.
Cremation has taken place and a celebration of Georgia’s life will take place at a later date.
