Georgette Giroux 1932 2020

Obituary for
Georgette Giroux (Piché)
GIROUX, Georgette (née Piché)
The family announces with sorrow her passing at Finlandia in Sudbury, Tuesday, November 24, 2020 after a long, hard-fought battle with Alzheimer at the age of 88 years. Happily married to Marcel Giroux for 69 years. Daughter of the late Georges and the late Clorida (née Michaud) Piché. Predeceased by her eldest son Michel. Loving mother of Denis (Denise). Dear sister of Huguette Sauvé (Rolly). Predeceased by her sister Irene Dalaire (late Gregoire), Fernande (late Lucien) and Robert (late Rachelle). Sadly missed by her cherished grandson Lee. “Georgie” will be fondly remembered by nieces and nephews, her sister-in-law Helene Stesco (Richard), as well as friends and customers of Eaton’s where she worked for 23 years. She was thoughtful and fun loving, a great cook and talented crafter. She and Marcel, both sun-lovers, travelled extensively. She enjoyed getting dressed up and had a natural fashion sense that helped customers in men’s wear at Eaton’s, and later, ladies’ wear at Chez Milene boutique. Georgette adored her family and pets and loved talking to, and about, them, especially Lee and Bandit. There will be no visitation or public service. If donating, learn about “Giving Tuesday”, December 1st, online at www.canadahelps.org/en/givingtuesday/ , where in-memoriam gifts can be directed to a charity of your choice, and acknowledged via “GivingforGeorgie@outlook.com”. Arrangements entrusted to the COOPERATIVE FUNERAL HOME, Sudbury.
