Obituary of George Freeman Sheppard
It is with great sadness that the family of the late George Freeman Sheppard announce his passing on February 17, 2020 at the Paddon Home, Happy Valley Goose Bay, NL at the age of 91. He will be sadly missed by his children: Georgina E. Sheppard, Christina W. Sheppard, Gary G. Sheppard (Debbie); grandchildren: Shelly D. Reddy, Elliott Sheppard, Freeman Sheppard; brothers: Thomas H. Sheppard (Theresa), Eugene Charles Sheppard (Rebecca); sisters: Dorothy E. McGrath (Peter), Nellie Z. Chaulk (Lewis), Gwendolyn A. Montague (Steward-deceased) as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents: Eugene and Winnifred Sheppard; wife Doris Mary Sheppard (Goguen); sons: Robert John Sheppard, Larry Thomas Sheppard and Arnold Sheppard. Visitation, Saturday, February 22, 2020 from 2–4 and 7–9 P.M. at Fillatre’s Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held on Sunday, February 23, 2020 at 2 P.M. from St. Andrew’s Anglican Church with Reverend Nellie Thomas officiating and interment to follow at the Anglican Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, flowers will be accepted and donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice. Special thanks to Dr. Law and the Staff at the Paddon Home who took wonderful care of George for six years.
