Obituary of George Edgar Bickford
It is with heavy hearts the family of George E. Bickford announce his passing on May 24, 2020 at the Sus Health Centre.
Born in Springfield, NB on October 21, 1935. He was the son of the late Richie C. and Mary (Pollock) Bickford.
George worked for Lounsbury Automotive in Moncton, Robin Hood Flour in Moncton and at their Headquarters in Toronto, ON. He went to Australia for about a year, then to Papua New Guinea and worked for Air New Guinea until his retirement in 1999. He then moved back to Sus.
George was a member of St. Paul’s United Church, Sus.
George is survived by his brothers: Lawrence (Betty) of Austin, MB and Murray (Clara) of Quispamsis; his sister, Barbara Thurrott (the late Lee) of Riverview and his brother-in-law, Onorio Rossetto of Saint John; as well as several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, George was predeceased by his sisters: Elsie Friars, Dorothy, Blanche and Mildred Rossetto; his brothers: Harry, Donald, Gordon and Ralph.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the compassionate care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sus, (506-433-1176). In keeping with George’s wishes there will be no visitation or funeral service. The interment will take place in Riverbank Cemetery.
