Obituary
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of George Stetson Raymond, which occurred on Sunday, November 1, 2020 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. He was born in Hampton on September 30, 1937, to the late Percy and Grace (Burgess) Raymond and was the loving husband of 60 years to his wife, Dolores (Devlin) Raymond.
George was a firefighter with the Saint John Fire Department and then acquired the family business of P.G. Raymond Ltd in the Saint John City Market until his retirement.
George was extremely devoted to his family and friends.
In addition to his loving wife, Dolores, he is survived by his daughters, Kathy (Andrew) Smith and Patti LeBlanc.
George will be remembered always by his 6 grandchildren; Kelly, Gregory, Meaghan (Jordan) Fitzpatrick, Mallory (Sean), Erin (Sean) and Ryan (MacKenzie).
Along with his parents, George was predeceased by his son Michael, brother Gordon (Mary) and sister Norma (Doug) Woods.
Resting at the Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) with visitation hours being held on Wednesday, November 4th, 2020 between 2-4 and 6-8 pm. Funeral Liturgy will take place on Thursday at 10:30 am from the Fundy Chapel with Father Ralph McRae officiating.
Interment to follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
