George “Sonny” Kane
Kane, George “Sonny”:
Passed away unexpectedly but peacefully on Saturday, January 18th, 2020 at St. Mary’s General Hospital at the age of 81.
Loving father of Brenda (the late Randy) Hoglund, Terry (Trevor) Ellis, the late Lori Kane (2018), the late Georgina Kane, Sandy (Gord) Pelley, George “Mike” Hiltz and Michelle Hiltz, and his bonus daughter, Emma Hiltz.
Cherished Papa of Cassandra, Jessica, Dylan, Robert, Chase, Amanda, Justin, Gregory and Olivia, and 10 (soon to be 11) great-grandchildren.
Predeceased by his siblings Winston, Mary Gaudet (Henry) and Herb (Goldie).
Survived by his sister and brother-in-laws, Judy Kane, Joan (Tony), Erma (Bill) and Wade (Jean).
Will be missed by his many nieces and nephews and extended family in Nova Scotia.
Lovingly remembered by Carolyn Hiltz.
Predeceased by Audrey Kane (2009).
Sonny’s family will receive relatives and friends from 12:30 – 1:15 pm on Wednesday, January 22nd, 2020 at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener, 519-749-8467 with a service in the chapel at 1:30 pm. Reception to follow. Private cremation to take place.
As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Lung Association or SickKids Foundation would be appreciated by the family (cards available at the funeral home).
