Obituary
PARSONS, George Sheridan – Passed away peacefully at the Health Sciences Centre on Monday, June 15, 2020, in his 88th year. Left to mourn, with a lifetime of beautiful memories, are his daughter Donna and son-in-law Pat Wadden; his daughter Doreen and wife Barbara Parker; his granddaughters Jennie Wadden (Todd Connors), Katie Wadden (Daniel Matthews) and Nancy Wadden (Alicia Reid); and his great grandchildren: George, Sadie and Sophie Connors and Jacob Matthews. Also left to share this loss are his sister Doreen Hnatowsky (Grand Rapids, MI); as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Pauline (nee Barnes), and his parents, Morley and Margaret (nee Yetman). Sheridan was born in St. John’s where he spent much of his professional career as Director and Treasurer of Steers Limited. He also used those skills as a long-standing active member of Gower Street United Church and Men’s Club. However, his favorite times found him skating at the stadium, at the cabin in Snows Pond or in the garden at North River. From the weather to wildlife, to anything related to Newfoundland, Sheridan was a wealth of knowledge, and the family’s go-to person for fixing any problem. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather to his close-knit family. Sheridan will be greatly missed, but his legacy will forever live on in the next generation of Snows Pond enthusiasts. A sincere thank you is extended to the staff at Kenny’s Pond Retirement Community. Cremation has taken place. A family service will be held at the General Protestant Cemetery on Friday, June 19,2020. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made in Sheridan’s memory to Gower Street United Church or to the charity of your choice.
