Obituary
It is with great sadness that the family of George Robert Sticklen announce his passing which occurred peacefully at Bobby’s Hospice with his daughter by his side on Thursday, June 4, 2020 at the age of 84. Born February 22, 1936 in Chatham, NB, he was the son of the late Germain and Ruth (Gammon) Sticklen.
George will be sadly missed by his wife of 59 years, Marilyn (Twaddle) and by his daughter Melanie and son in-law Don Spencer. all of Quispamsis and his son Kevin of Burnaby, BC. George will be remembered by his grandchildren; Devin (Kaylie Hoyt) of Spirit River, AB and Riley of Halifax, NS and great grandchildren; Nash and Nora of Spirit River, AB.
In addition to his parents, George was predeceased by his half brother Edward Sticklen, sister Judy Sticklen-Fry and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
George was a devoted member of Long Reach United Church. He spent his working career as an Insurance Claims Adjuster, retiring after 35 dedicated years, he assisted many people over the years.
Following retirement, he enjoyed the times spent with his family, especially with his loving wife Marilyn. Together, they spent 13 years travelling, visiting, and making many lifelong friends in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.
George was passionate about his gardens and would rarely miss a Nascar Race.
Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) has been entrusted with the arrangements. In keeping with George’s wishes, cremation will take place and a celebration of his life will take place at a later date, please check back with the Fundy Funeral Home for a date and time to be announced.
