George Girouard
1927 ~ 2020
Born October 14, 1927 in Bouctouche and passed away December 5, 2020 in Moncton. He resided at the Villa du Repos. He was the son of the late François Girouard and the late Hélène Collette; husband of the late Amerylis “Mimi” Berthe. He was the youngest of the boys and the last survivor of his family. He was predeceased by his brothers: Édouard, André and Alfred; his sisters: Elvia, Lucille, Hedwidge and Rosemary.
George will be sadly missed by his two daughters and their families: Jolande (Zoel Collin) and Louise (Peter Squires); his grandchildren: Mathieu Collin and Monique Squires all of Fredericton; his two step-grandchildren: Natasha and Jeffrey and his two step-great-grandchildren: Hannah and Miley; as well as several nieces and nephews.
George wholeheartedly loved his family, his cottage, his flowers and working around the house. He always laughed heartily and in his good years he always had a project in mind.
A special thank you to the staff of “Manoir Notre-Dame” and “Villa du Repo” for their good care over the past few years and especially over the past few months.
The visit will take place at the Passage Funeral Chapel (625 Mountain Road, Moncton) on Wednesday, December 9, 2020 from 1 p.m. until time of funeral at Passage Chapel at 3 p.m., with a maximum of 50 people. The funeral will be streamed and can be viewed live on the Passage Facebook page at www.facebook.com/PassageFH/. (Click on yellow link to access page)
