July 14, 1922 – April 9, 2020
The family of George Hoffman sadly announces his passing. He was born at the family farm near Tolstoi Manitoba on July 14, 1922 and passed after a very short illness on April 9, 2020.
He is survived by his wife Esther, married for 73 years, sisters Louise and Ellie and Brother Richard. Sons Lyle/Bonnie, Douglas/Patricia, daughters Eileen/Denis, Deborah/Brad. He had 13 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews.
He was predeceased by his son Barry, sister Dolly and brother Leonard.
George, Esther and family moved from Winnipeg to Armstrong in the summer of 1952. He lived a full life and was always involved with the local legion. He was very proud of his WWII service with the 12th Manitoba Dragoons and the liberation of France, Belgium and Holland for which he was decorated as “Chevalier De La Legion D’Honneur”. He was a great storyteller and enjoyed family and friends till his final days.
A celebration of his life will be held at a future time when society allows us to meet, hug, cry, laugh and let this wonderful man go in peace.
Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of George Charley Hoffman April 9th 2020..
