With sadness the family announces the passing of Gaston on Wednesday, December 16, 2020 at the age of 92. Gaston immigrated to Canada in 1951 from Hooglede , Belgium with his parents and siblings. He grew tobacco for over 17 years before turning to his real trade to become owner and operator of Geysens Machine & Welding Shop for over 45 years. Gaston was a prominent Member of the Belgium Community in Canada . He was bestowed the Honour of Knight in the Order of Leopold II in 1991 for his outstanding contribution to the Delhi Belgium Club and a Founding Member of the Multicultural Heritage Society of Norfolk. Gaston was an avid gardener and enjoyed hunting. Beloved husband of over 66 years to Maria Geysens (Vanhooren). Loving father of Linda Clark (Paul Hutcheon), Rita Geysens (Martin Kern) and the Late Gino Geysens (2016). Cherished grandfather of Scott Clark (Ashley) and great grandfather of Olivia and Elliott. Dearest brother of Yvonne Verhaeghe (Late Lieven), Paul Geysens (Jeanette) and Roger Geysens (Anita) and brother in law to Margaret Vanhooren (Late Jerome), Godelieve Nolf (Andre), Willy Vanhooren (Susan), Irene Gubesch (Late Martin), Marcel Vanhooren (Darlene). Also survived by several nieces and nephews. In consideration of the continuing health and safety of our friends & family, a Funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady, Queen of Martyrs Roman Catholic Church, Delhi on Wednesday, December 23, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. (MAX: 100 Attendees) – Only R.S.V.P.
