Obituary of Gary Richard Peters
Surrounded by his loving family at the Ottawa General Hospital on Tuesday September 15, 2020, Gary Richard Peters, Griffith, ON, age 75 years. Beloved husband of Sandra Needham for 54 years. Dear father of Mark (Lori), Ottawa and Chris (Celine), Griffith. Proud and loving grandpa of Katrina, Emma & Kaitlin. Predeceased by his parents Fred and Gwendolyn and sister Gwen.
During Gary’s working career he became an entrepreneur owning and operating Peters Sheet Metal Limited for 45 years as well as building and operating Camel Chute Campground for 35 years. He also enjoyed giving back to his community in the Griffith and Matawatchan area and was a Charter member and past president of the Denbigh Griffith Lions Club, where he was awarded the Melvin Jones Fellowship Award. He served as the First District Fire Chief at Station #2 for The Township of Greater Madawaska for 12 years. He also enjoyed curling with the Brant Curling Club. He will be missed.
Private arrangements entrusted to the care of the Goulet Funeral Home, 310 Argyle St. S., Renfrew. A celebration of life will be held in the summer of 2021. Inurnment Mount Hope Cemetery, Brantford.
