Gary Michael Jones 1968 – 2020
On Monday September 14, 2020, Gary Michael Jones passed away peacefully at his home at the age of 51 years. Cherished son of Margaret and Bert. Loving father to Aidan and Ryder. Sadly missed by brothers Steve and Chris, nieces Jessica and Catherine, nephew Dillon, aunt Brenda.
Gary was born in Northern Ireland and immigrated with his family to Canada in 1973. After a year of living in Hagersville, he grew up in Simcoe, Ontario, playing soccer and hockey as a boy. After high school Gary apprenticed as an auto mechanic. Gary married Beth in 1992 and welcomed their son Aidan in 1999. In 2011 Gary and Kim welcomed his second son Ryder. What Gary loved most in the world was to spend time with his 2 boys. He always did his best to make time for them whether that meant taking them on fun adventures or simply playing a game of catch in the backyard. For that, he will always be loved and remembered.
Cremation has taken place. A gathering to celebrate Gary’s life will take place on Friday September 25th from 1pm – 3pm. Eulogies will be offered at 2:30pm at the Ayr Chapel, of Wm Kipp Funeral Home, 183 Northumberland St. Ayr. Please note all Covid 19 regulations and restrictions will be in effect inside and outside the funeral home. This includes number of attendees, social distancing and that masks or face coverings must be worn.
Memorial donations to an education trust fund for the boys would be appreciated, care of Kim Cunningham, Ryder’s mother.
