It is with great sadness that the family of Gary Leroy Nowe, 63 of Lunenburg announces his passing on Saturday, October 24, 2020 at home.
Born in Lunenburg he was the son of the late Walter “Mutt” and Marilyn (Corkum) Nowe.
Gary’s love of the sea started at an early age fishing with his father and then went on to lobstering with his own boat the “Yasmin B” retiring in 2019. When not at sea, he enjoyed hunting, curling, golfing and spending time at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch # 23, Lunenburg, enjoying a good game of pool with friends. His sudden passing has left a great void in his family’s lives and he will be deeply missed by so many.
He is survived by his companion, Cindy Savory, his daughter Yasmin (Donald) Walker, Cherryfield, grandchildren, Dylan and Kaelyn and Cindy’s large extended family.
He was predeceased by his parents, and his wife, Kathy.
Funeral Arrangements are under the direction of the Dana L. Sweeny Funeral Home, 11213 Hwy. # 3, Lunenburg. A celebration of Gary’s life will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society or to the IWK Hospital Foundation.
