Tributes
Caldwell, Freda Olive
(nee Barclay)
1922 – 2020
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Freda Caldwell, on June 17, 2020, at the age of 97. Predeceased by her beloved husband H. Gordon Caldwell and by her five siblings (Gladys, Betty, Elsie, Lloyd and Dorothy). Devoted mother of Donald (Maggie), David and Douglas (Terry). Cherished grandmother of Jennifer, Stephanie, Ryan, Matthew and Lesley. Freda will be greatly missed by her six grandchildren (Tristan, Breanna, Cole, Liam, Vanessa and Kingston) and her friends. She was an excellent student and was chosen as Valedictorian of her graduating class at the Carp Continuation School. She worked in a legal firm in Ottawa before marrying Gordon and raising their family. After her children were grown, she worked as a bookkeeper at the local feed mill in Carp. In retirement, she enjoyed playing bridge, was an avid reader and followed current events with keen interest. Throughout her life, she was involved with community activities and attended church services regularly. The funeral service took place at the Carp Chapel of Tubman Funeral Homes, Carp, Ontario, on June 19, 2020 with only close family members in attendance, due to COVID 19 government regulations. Memorial donations to the Almonte Hospital are appreciated. Condolences, tributes, and donations may be made at www.tubmanfuneralhomes.com

Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Freda Olive Barclay Caldwell August 21 1922 June 17 2020 (age 97)..
