Freda Eloise Anderson 19192020

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Freda
Eloise Anderson on October 13th, 2020 at the Dr
Everett Chalmers Hospital, Fredericton.
Freda was born in Amherst, NS on August
17th, 1919, to the late Burton and Eloise
(McKay) Shipley. Freda married Earle D. Anderson on
September 15th, 1943. Freda was
predeceased by her parents, husband Earle, brothers Eldon, Wylie,
Laurie and Cecil Shipley and grandson Paul Anderson. She is
survived by two sons, Allister (Anna)of Hanwell and Rodger (Sylvia) of
Charters Settlement; four grandchildren, June (Paul) DeMerchant of
Fredericton, Michael (Wanda) Anderson of London ON, Karen (Rockland)
Miller of Charters Settlement and Teena (Tim) Merrithew of
Fredericton; ten great grandchildren, Kathy (William) MacMackin, Laura
(Sam) Renault, Robert DeMerchant (Marissa), Peter Gwen and Clair
Anderson, Thomas (Holly) Miller and Jenna (Mike) Richards, Jessica
(Brandon) McCafferty and Leigh-Anna MacDougall as well as several
nieces, nephews and cousins.
Freda was an assessment clerk with the province of Ontario
for many years prior to her retirement and was a longstanding member
of the Brunswick Street Baptist Church. Freda and Erle enjoyed many
happy winters as Snowbirds in Florida. She was at her
Happiest when helping and spending time with friends and family,
especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She
was a long-time member of Imperial Rebekah Lodge No. 102 for 78 years
and the Independent Order of Foresters, Women’s Missionary
Society and the quilters group of Brunswick Street Baptist
Church. She always loved a good game of cards and was the
life of the party even at 101.
For those who wish to make a donation in Freda’s
memory, donations can be made to Brunswick Street Baptist Church or
the donor’s choice.
The Family would like to express their sincere appreciation
to the staff on 4 East at the DECH for the excellent care they gave
Freda during her stay there.
Due to Covid 19 concerns, a private family graveside service
will be held in the Douglas Rural Cemetery.
