Fred Kolishenco
May 22, 1933 – October 30, 2020
It is with great sadness that we announce that Fred Kolishenco passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, October 30th in Oakville, Ontario. He will be missed beyond words by his beloved wife Shirley of 65 years and his one and only daughter Jennifer, along with niece and nephew Diane & David. He was a loyal and dedicated husband and father as well as a friend to many. Predeceased by his parents, Feodor Stephanov & Natalia Ivanovna and sister Marie.
Fred was a big personality. Full of interesting stories and tales, and a lover of jokes. He loved going out daily to shop, run errands and chat with just about everyone. He loved working in his workshop repairing and restoring rare antique clocks or just Sunday trips to flea markets with his wife Shirley. His sense of humour and quick wit were famous among all those who knew and loved him as was his creative imagination and mechanical intelligence. He loved history, biographies, travel, watching the same movies over and over again, along with a good steak and a margarita. He loved good quality in all things in life. Fred was proud of his Father and Mother and their story of immigrating to Canada. He inherited their strong work ethic and worked hard his entire life to give all that he could to his wife Shirley and daughter Jennifer. Fred was a big, vivacious personality with many layers, one of which was a heart of gold and his kindness and sensitivity became even more evident during his later years to his end.
Due to these challenging times, the family will hold a private celebration of life service on Wednesday, November 4th at 1:00pm.(Due to COVID restrictions the service attendance is by appointment only) We hope to hold a larger outdoor service at some point in the future to celebrate the life of Fred in a bigger way. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Ontario Humane Society as Fred was a big animal lover with a soft heart for anything fuzzy.
Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Fred Kolishenco May 22 1933 October 30 2020..
