Franklin Wendell Dickinson
1949-2020
Franklin Wendell Dickinson, oldest son of Iva and Wendell
Dickinson ofUpper Woodstock, passed away on July
31st, 2020 at the Carleton Manor in Woodstock.
Frank was predeceased by his parents and two of his brothers, Kim
Dickinson and Christopher Dickinson.
Frank is survived by his remaining siblings, Linda Ferrier of
Fredericton; Randy (Karen) Dickinson of Fredericton; Stephen Dickinson
of Hartland; Cathy (Craig) McGuire of Newbridge; Wendy (Lyse)
Dickinson of Fredericton; as well as a number of nieces, nephews, and
cousins.
Frank survived a very serious car accident in 1971 but after
extensive rehabilitation was able to pursue a career in accounting. He
was good with numbers and doing mental arithmetic.
As a result of a bicycle accident many years later, his
various disabilities meant he required residential
care.
Then in August of 2010, he moved to Carleton Manor where he
received excellent care and support. Frank was happy there and was
known for always being in a good mood and always complimenting the
staff. He knew all of the residents at the Manor as well as their
family members and always greeted them when he was driving his
wheelchair in the hallways. Frank loved to play bingo especially when
he won. In spite of the many health challenges that presented
themselves to Frank over the years, our family was very proud of how
he met those obstacles. Frank always remained positive. He will be
missed!
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to
the Recreation Program at the Carleton Manor in Woodstock or a
donation to a disability related charity of their
choice.
The funeral arrangements are being handled by the Carleton
Funeral Home. However due to the pandemic, there will be no
visitation. A graveside service with appropriate social distancing
will be officiated by Murray Whitehouse at the Woodstock Rural
Cemetery on the Houlton Road on Tuesday, August
4th at 11:00am.
Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Franklin Wendell Dickinson 19492020..
