Frank Power
1925 – 2020
It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Frank Power, who passed away on November 17, 2020 at the Veteran’s Health Care Centre in Moncton, NB. Born in Mushaboom, NS on December 8, 1925, he was the son of the late William and Freda (Hubley) Power.
Frank is survived by his loving wife, Irma of 72 years; children: James (Carol Ann) of Halifax, NS, Kenneth of Halifax, NS, Stephen (Penny) of Miramichi, NB, Cheryl Bourque (Barry) of Moncton, NB, Garth (Anne) of Miramichi, NB and Karen Harding (Laurie) of Oakville, ON; ten grandchildren and five great grandchildren; brother: Eldon of Miramichi, NB, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Wonderful husband and father, he was loved by his family and liked by everyone who met him. Frank was a hard worker and was talented with his woodworking and painting. He loved children and animals and especially feeding birds, he enjoyed the outdoors and looked forward to berry and apple picking season. Frank spent many hours on the river and the lake fishing. He was an avid bowler and card player. At a young age, Frank started working at a pulp mill in Sheet Harbour, NS until 1967, then Miramichi pulp mill until retirement. The family would like to express thanks to nurses and staff at the Veteran’s Health Care Centre in Moncton.
A public visitation will be held at Bell’s Funeral Home, 651 King George Highway, Miramichi on Friday evening, November 20 from 7:00 to 9:00 PM. Funeral service will be held from Sterling Bell Memorial Chapel on Saturday, November 21, 2020 at 1:00 PM with Reverend Thomas Nisbett officiating. Interment will follow in St. Mark’s Anglican Cemetery, Chelmsford, NB.
Please note: Due to Covid-19 restrictions, seating at the funeral service will be limited. Social distancing and mandatory mask policies will be in effect.
