It is with great sadness that we share the loss of Mr. Frank Hollands, 74 years of age, from Vanscoy, Saskatchewan. Frank died peacefully on July 29th in the hospital with his long-time partner, Robin, at his side.
He is predeceased by; his father, Frank Hollands Senior; and his mother, Mary Anne (Peters) of Ontario.
Frank is survived by; his partner in life, Robin Wallace; three sisters, Mary Branigan of Ontario, Carol Jessome of British Columbia and Ruth Hollands of Ontario; daughter, Carol Van Roie, and her two children Melissa and Neil of Ontario. Frank is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and five great-grandchildren.
Frank was a man who loved horses. He was a certified farrier by trade, and worked in several western provinces as such throughout his fifty year career. He was known to bring home a horse in lieu of payment for his services. He would work with very difficult and dangerous horses, but would not leave until the job was finished.
He became closer to his family in later years, but his health kept him at home after retirement, and he couldn’t get to see them as much as he would have wished.
He was quick with a joke and enjoyed a good beer. His family and friends in Saskatchewan will miss him dearly.
At Frank’s request, there will be no service, and those wishing to remember him can make a toast in his name.
Thanks to the staff at the University Hospital for all of the kind and compassionate care received.
Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Frank Hollands 2020..
