Le 13 mai 2020, à l’hôpital Royal Alexandra d’Edmonton, est décédé Francis St-Amand, à l’âge de 71 ans. Né à Sayabec, Québec, il était le fils de Nazaire St-Amand Jr et de Cécile Morin. Il laisse dans le deuil ses frères Régis (Monique), Reynold (Monique) et Marcel (Paulette). Son frère Milton l’a précédé en 1961.
Francis a commencé sa carrière militaire en 1965. Ses principales affectations l’ont mené de Québec à Lahr, Allemagne, à Trenton, Ontario, et finalement à Edmonton, Alberta, où il a pris sa retraite en 1992. Il a eu une vie bien remplie.
Il a été hospitalisé en avril dernier à l’hôpital Royal Alexandra. La famille tient à remercier les médecins et les infirmières qui lui ont prodigué toute leur attention et tous les soins requis par son état.
La famille remercie également le Fonds du Souvenir qui a pris à sa charge les événements après décès.
Selon les volontés de Francis, il n’y aura aucune cérémonie funéraire. Ses cendres seront déposées au cimetière Northern Lights à Edmonton.
Enfin, la famille tient à remercier madame Pamela Steinberg, Directrice des Funérailles, de la Maison funéraire Connelly-Mckinley Limited. Ses initiatives, sa sollicitude et sa compassion ont été d’un très grand secours pour la famille

Francis St-Amand passed away on May 13, 2020, at the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Edmonton, at the age of 71 years. Born in Sayabec, Quebec, he was the son of Nazaire St-Amand Jr and Cécile Morin. He is survived by his brothers, Régis (Monique), Reynold (Monique) and Marcel (Paulette). His brother, Milton predeceased him in 1961.
Francis began his military career in 1965. His main assignments took him from Quebec to Lahr, Germany, to Trenton, Ontario, and finally to Edmonton, Alberta, where he retired in 1992. He had a good and fulfilling life.
He was hospitalized last April at the Royal Alexandra Hospital. The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses who gave him all of their attention and all the care required by his condition. The family also thanks the Last Post Fund which supported the events after death.
According to Francis, there will be no funeral ceremony. His ashes will be inurned at Edmonton’s Northern Lights Cemetery.
Finally, the family would like to thank Ms. Pamela Steinberg, Funeral Director of Connelly-Mckinley Limited Funeral Home. Her initiative, concern and her
compassion were of great help to the family.
