Van Bommel, Francis Eugene, age
61, of Grosvenor, Antigonish County passed away in St.
Martha’s Regional Hospital, Antigonish on November 14,
2020.
Born in Antigonish, he was the son of Hendrika (Hazen) Van
Bommel and the late Johannas “John” Van
Bommel.
Francis worked as a diesel mechanic throughout the province
for many years. He loved being out in the woods, fishing and
fixing things.
He is survived by his wife, Mary (Tait); children: Jamie,
Tracadie; Mark (Laura), Porter’s Lake; Crissy, St. Andrews;
grandchildren: Julia, John, Addison and Nicholas; siblings: John (Mary
Ellen), Grand Mira; Mary Munn (Mike), London, ON; Joey (Theresa),
Summerside; Henry (Bernadette), Heatherton; Anita (Mike) Tait,
Summerside; Jerry, Summerside and mother in law, Myrna
Tait.
Besides his father, he was predeceased by his father in law,
Angus Tait; brother in law Richard Munn and nephews Adrian Van Bommel
and Larry Munn.
Cremation has taken place. A private funeral
service will be held in C.L. Curry Funeral Home on
Thursday.
