Obituary of Frances Lillian Hughes
Frances Lillian Little, the youngest child of Alexander Francis Little and Sarah Jane (Younger) Little, was born in October, 1924 at Littleville, Sask. At the age of 6 she and her family moved to the Codette area, where she lived for the rest of her life. She attended Inkster School for all her education.
On Dec. 16th 1942, she married Michael Milton Hughes, the first wedding at the Elkhorn Chapel. In 1953 and 1956, their children David and Gwen joined their family.
Mom was involved in the West Codette Homemakers, Nipawin Fair Board, Codette U.C.W., the 4 C’s and the Codette Sr Citizen club. She enjoyed many activities, such as sewing, painting, curling, square dancing, old time dancing, bridge and Kaiser. She was an avid Blue Jays fan.
Frances was predeceased by her husband, Michael (2006); her father, Alexander Little (1939); her mother, Sarah Younger (1967); her 4 brothers: Oscar, Ernie, Bill and George; and her 5 sisters: Viola, Pearl, May, Eva and Ivy.
She is survived by her son, David; her daughter, Gwen (Denton) Peifer; her grandsons: Kelly (Laurie) and Michael (Jennifer) Peifer; and her 4 great grandchildren; Kurtis, Owen, Victoria and Austin.
Mom passed away on Sept 17, 2020 at the Pineview Lodge.
