Obituary of Frances Elizabeth Gazarek
Gazarek: Frances Elizabeth (Uhlik) –
A resident of Kent Bridge, Frances Gazarek passed away at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance on November 24, 2020 at the age of 96.
Born on November 24, 1924 in Vnorovy, Czechoslovakia, Frances was the daughter of the late Jerry and Jennie (nee Machacek) Uhlik.
Beloved wife to the late Martin J. Gazarek (2003).
Loving mother to Jim (Suzanne) Gazarek of Chatham, Elaine (Peter) Zoula of Highgate and Jenny (Larry) Cibulka of Dresden.
Grandmother to Charles (Anastasia) Gazarek, Daniel Gazarek, Rebecca (Mike) Fraser, Stephen Zoula, Emily (Matthew) Hodge, Marc Cibulka, and Matthew Cibulka.
Great grandmother to Zoe, James, Connor, Mason, Morgan, and Makayla.
Survived by sister Lillian (Murray) Ball, sister in law Lillian (late Jerry) Uhlik, and late Edward (Martha) Uhlik.
Sister in law to Annie (late Joe) Kominek, and the late Anthony (Blanche) Gazarek.
Frances will be sadly missed by many nieces and nephews.
Frances came to Canada in 1927 where she spent many years farming with Martin.
Frances will be remembered for her love of gardening, baking, volunteering at Riverview Gardens and her membership on the St. Mary’s Catholic Women’s League.
A private family visitation and funeral mass will take place with an interment at Evergreen Cemetery.
Donations made in memory of Frances to the St. Mary’s Restoration Fund or a charity of one’s choice would be appreciated.
