Passed peacefully away at the Miller Centre on Wednesday, April 8, 2020, aged 69 years. Pre-deceased by her Parents Percy and Loretta Spurrell. Left to morn her husband Gerald, two sons Shawn and Bryan, daughters-in-law Beth and Autumn, and grandchildren Bradley, Emily, Maria, Patrick, Blake, Anna-Sofia; great granddaughter Riley, brother Wilson, sisters Jean, Shirley, Margaret, Joan, Linda, Aunt Leah and Aunt May, sisters-in-law, Bernice, Shirley, Shelley, brothers-in-law Ron, Jim, Max, Melvin, Lou, Percy; many other family members and dear friends.
Born and raised in Badger’s Quay, at a young age, “Tay” could recite the alphabet backwards. At the age of 19 she moved to the St. John’s to work as a banker. During the first years in the big city, She lived with her Aunt Leah and they developed a special relationship. She adapted to city life and not long after met her life partner, Gerald, married and had two sons.
Although she never strayed too far from home, Frances lived a full life as a devoted Wife, a homemaker and a wonderful loving Mother. She was smart witted, and dedicated her life to family, helping with school work and instilling strong values and wisdom in her sons, and grandchildren.
Cherished and loved by everyone, people were touched in a special way by her kindness. Through her living and in her dying she leaves a lasting impact on the people whom she touched. She will be dearly missed and forever in our thoughts.
Thank you to all who helped us during our time of need. Special thanks to Wilson, Marg and Melvin, Shirley and Max for going above and beyond.
Due to the current pandemic there will be no visitations or funeral. Cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will take place at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations in here memory may be made to the Cancer Society, or a charitable foundation of your choice.
