Ford; Janice Ann 2020

FORD – Janice Ann, 63, of Middlefield, Queens County, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 22, 2020 in Queens General Hospital, Liverpool.
Born in Lunenburg, NS, Janice was a daughter of Dorothy (Inness) Jewers of Hunt’s point and the late Carl Jewers.
Janice’s main career was that of working as a waitress, here in Nova Scotia and Alberta. She was friendly, charismatic and had the handy knack remembering people as individuals. Her bubbly personality made her many friends, but most special was her dearest and bestest friend, Debbie Sparanelli. They shared many adventures together, some of which they would possibly rather forget, but, through the years, their friendship has endured and they have remained close right to the end.
Janice and her husband, Brent, shared a love of time spent at their lovely cabin in the woods. That was where Janice found her freedom, her place to go and renew her soul. A quiet paddle on the river was her equivalent to winning the lottery and she spent many hours in enjoyment and celebration of her daily life with paddle in hand.
Janice believed strongly in Guardian Angels and two that she always said “walked among us” were Brent’s parents, Howard and Anna Ford. They took her in and cared for her as if she was a fragile piece of china whenever Brent was away at work. No olne could have asked for finer caregivers and she loved them dearly as they did her.
Janice fought the good fight, and she lost the battle with grace and dignity. Her spirit has not left us, just moved from being here in person to being in our hearts. Janice will be fondly and lovingly remembered as feisty, adventuresome, adorably cute and a warm loving friend to all who knew her, but especially to her family. Her biggest regret during her illness was that she would not be here to do all the things that she would do as Autumn’s Grandmother.
Besides her caring and devoted mother Dorothy, Janie leaves behind her husband Brent, who has been at her side day and night throughout this ordeal; steadfast and lovingly kind for the duration. She also leaves behind her son, who was the hub of her wheel from the day he was born. The light of Janice’s life was her beautiful granddaughter Autumn. Her sisters Sharon (John) Hunter of Hunt’s Point; Ellen Mouratis of Dartmouth as well as loving cousins Norman (April) of BC and Raymond (Evangeline) of NL.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of Chandlers’ Funeral Home, Liverpool. At Janice’s request, there will be no formal funeral, just a fond farewell at the graveside in Pine Grove Cemetery, Kempt on Thursday, October 29, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. attended by the people that she loved the most and who loved her in return. No flowers by request, donations may be made to the Breast Cancer Society.
Many thanks to Dr. Ernest and Dr. Gowan for their kind, compassionate care and support and to Chandlers’ for their kind and gentle assistance to our family. As a personal tribute, Janice asked that part of her ashes be kept aside to be laid to rest with her sweet mother. Otherwise, her final request was for everyone to have a stiff drink of rum, a few laughs in celebration of her life and maybe a few tears. See you later, kid. Love ya, always.
