Fernand “Fern”
Richard, 82, of Lead Cove, NL and formerly of Moncton, NB, passed away
peacefully at The Moncton Hospital on Friday, August 21, 2020, with
his two daughters by his side.
Born in St-Norbert, he was the
son of the late Levi and Vitaline (Richard)
Richard.
Fern was a drywall finisher, a
carpenter and a jack of all trades. He played hockey and ball in his
younger years and more recently loved watching his granddaughters play
both sports. He enjoyed playing music with his friends and embraced
the quietness of a good fishing hole.
Fern will be sadly missed by his
wife of 51 years, Anita (Button) Richard, daughters, Janice MacKinnon
(Ty) of Lutes Mountain and Glenda Richard (Marcel LeBlanc) of Cocagne;
grandchildren, Ryan, Emily, Kiersten, Alyssa, Maxime and Ella; sisters
Irene Bourgeois (Leonard), Lita Townsend (Keith) and Lise Bastarache
(Ariste); brothers, Alva (Grace), Alfred (Stella), Jean-Noel (Emma),
Euclide (Pierrette) and Eugere; mother-in-law, Annie Button and
several nieces and nephews, extended family members, friends and music
friends. In addition to his parents, Fern was also predeceased by his
father-in-law Ananias Button and his brother Roger
(Linda).
Visitation at Fergusons Funeral
Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995) on Tuesday, August 25th
from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. Social Distancing Guidelines must be followed
while in the Funeral Home and wearing a mask is
encouraged.
A private family service to
celebrate and honor Fern’s life will be held from Fergusons
Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be in the St-Norbert Parish
Cemetery.

or the charity of your choice would be appreciated. Online
