Everett’s Obituary
NICKERSON, Everett Oscar – 94, The Hawk, passed away on September 16, 2020 at home. Born at The Hawk on July 12, 1926, he was a son of the late Frederick and Cora (Atwood) Nickerson. Everett was a veteran of WWII. Everett spent a lot of time outdoors, whether he was gardening, trapping or hunting. He was an avid hunter and especially liked deer and duck hunting. He loved looking out at the Cape from his bedroom window and he also enjoyed visiting around The Hawk looking for ducks. His family remembers he was a good cook and made a great duck stew. Everett is survived by his daughter, Kathy (Felton) Nickerson; brother, Claire (Isabel) Nickerson; grandchildren, Christopher Atwood, Chrissy Atwood; great-grandchildren, Chloe, Rylee, Hunter; and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his first wife, Alvira; second wife, Mary; companion, Thelma Stoddard; siblings, Leslie, Clinton, Edna, Ruth, Harold, Aldon, and Herbert Hoover. There will be a visitation held Sunday from 12-2 p.m. at The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 148, Clark’s Harbour, where the service will follow at 2p.m. with Richard MacAdams officiating. Interment will be in the Evergreen Cemetery, The Hawk. Memorial donations may be made to the Royal Canadian Legion, Evergreen Cemetery, or the VON.
