Obituary of Evelyn Marlene Smith
SMITH, EVELYN MARLENE
We, the close friends of Evelyn Marlene Smith are saddened to announce her passing on Wednesday, June 3, 2020 after a brief illness.
Evelyn was born on September 17, 1952. Evie, as she was known by her friends, worked for Saint John Dry dock for 5 years, moving on to W.J. Bierstos and then for Delta Electric for her last 4 years of doing staff payrolls. She left this career and pursued one as a caregiver for elderly people where she gave compassion and comfort. After retirement, she moved to Barony. Evelyn used her camera to capture pictures of the wildlife around her, she developed a keen interest in buying and selling real estate. She could be found behind the wheel of a classic car (always kept in mint shape) or driving one of her many motorcycles. Evie will be remembered as a fine Christian who loved the Lord and put Him first in all things, accomplishing much for His kingdom, including just recently having a book published. Her bright happy eyes, infectious smile and loving spirit will always be remembered by those who knew her. Because of Evie’s love for all of God’s creatures both big and small, any donation to the Fredericton SPCA or Hospice House would be appreciated.
A small private graveside service will be held at Barony Cemetery . Evelyn’s greatest goal in life was to be with her Lord and Saviour. We are sure she has achieved this. Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com
