Evelyn Bernice Flemming
1944-2020

Evelyn B. Flemming of Millville, NB, passed away peacefully on May 12,
2020 at her home. She was born in Millville, NB, a daughter of Hazel
(Gill) Flemming and the late Willard Flemming.
As a teenager, she worked at Estey’s Store with her lifelong
friend, Carolyn Estey and later on was employed by the Province of New
Brunswick, retiring in 2000 after 37 years of service. In addition to
working full-time, she also filled the roll of Clerk for the Village
of Millville. After her retirement, she spent 20 years volunteering at
the Northeast Christian College in Fredericton, NB.
Evelyn was a member of the Millville United Pentecostal Church where
she gave generously of her time and finances. She taught Sunday School
for 65 years and was the Secretary/Treasurer for 55 years. She kept
the church looking spotless and coached a senior bible quizzing team.
Her friends and family affectionately knew her as “Ev”.
Her favourite pastimes included road trips with her sister Shirley,
gardening, taking walks and doing puzzles. Ev was a world traveler
visiting many European Countries as well as New Zealand and Australia.
She was a loving daughter and it showed in the care she provided to
her mother Hazel.
She is survived by her mother, Hazel; her sisters, Rowena (Clinton)
Wallace, Barbara (Lorne) McHatten and Shirley McConaghy; several
special nieces and nephews.
In addition to her father, she was predeceased by her niece, Carla
(McHatten) Craig and brother-in-law Reginald McConaghy.
Her family would like to thank Dr. Hebb, Dr. Leroux and the Horizon
Health Extra Mural Nurses for the excellent care they gave to Evelyn
during her very brief illness.
Private family service will be held at a later date.
For those who wish to make a donation in memory of Evelyn, the family
has suggested the Hawkins Corner Cemetery or the Millville United
Pentecostal Church.
