Evangeline “Vangie” Helen Laffin-Yorke
Laffin-Yorke, Evangeline “Vangie” Helen, 66 – Masstown, passed away peacefully on December 21, 2019 in Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro. Born in Parrsboro, she was a daughter of the late Carmen and Vera (Phinney) Yorke. Vangie was a hairdresser who loved her family and enjoyed ATV-ing, fishing and the camp. She loved playing cards with her family and friends and made sure her sons were cared for in every way. She was known for her bright colours and wild outfits. “Vangie was the only lady who could get away with wearing fuschia lipstick and rubber boots.” She is survived by sons, David Roy (Marlaina), and Ricky (Donna), both of Alberta; sister, Coleen Yorke; brothers, Jim (Patricia), Masstown and Sandy (Sandra), Middle Sackville; grandchildren, Terry James, Michael, Codie, Danika Mae, Hayden Roy, Jagger; great grandson, Noah; as well as several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her partner, Jim Richards; sisters, Gwen and Rebecca and brothers, Glenford and Roger. A Celebration of Life Visitation will be held on Friday, December 27th from 2-4 pm in Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow St., Truro. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or charity of choice. Condolences may be sent to the family by visiting www.ColchesterCommunity.com
