Eunice’s Obituary
MacKENZIE, Eunice Louise Utah – 76, Woods Harbour, passed away May 11, 2020 in the Yarmouth Regional Hospital. Born and raised in Woods Harbour on February 1, 1944, she was a daughter of the late St. Claire and Iona Nickerson. Eunice was the perfect mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved and adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She, in general, was very family minded and loved them dearly and they were everything to her. She enjoyed knitting, cooking, playing cards and gardening. She will be greatly missed by all those that knew and loved her. She is survived by her children, Betty Lou (Eric), Debbie (Anton), Sherry (Gary); special friend and companion, Leonard Stoddard; and also his family; grandchildren, Jeremy (Jaycee), Brandon, Erica (Jeremy), Brock (Darcy), Shyanne (Andrew); great-grandchildren, Joren, Camden, Chase, Jerin; and sisters, Enid Atkinson, and Velma Amiro; and many nieces , nephews, and cousins. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Chester MacKenzie; brother, Wilfred Nickerson; and sister, Rachel Ross. The family would like to extend a special thanks to all the healthcare staff and doctors of Yarmouth Regional and QEII for the wonderful and loving care. Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of H. M. Huskilson’s Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Barrington. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, a private family graveside will be held in her honour at the Pleasant Plain Cemetery, North West Harbour.
